SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) is a system in which a reducing agent (urea) is injected into the exhaust system. This causes the nitrogen oxides to be converted into nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O), which reduces exhaust emissions. The chemical reaction is accelerated by a catalyst.
